A player from the UK scooped the highly anticipated EuroMillions Superdraw €100 million jackpot on 30 June 2017. The UK EuroMillions player will collect £87.5 million for being the only player to correctly select all five winning numbers, 17, 35, 39, 47 and 50 and Lucky Stars 6 and 8.
Superdraws are highly anticipated events that only occur sporadically, sometimes as little as once a year. The 30 June 2017 Superdraw was the first since 30 September 2016, when the €130 million jackpot rolled over until it reached €168 million and was won on 11 October 2016 by a Belgian player.
Friday’s Superdraw was the first time someone won the jackpot on the first draw since 6 March 2015. Had the jackpot rolled over it could have potentially reached the jackpot cap of €190 million.
Along with Friday’s big jackpot winner there were six players who matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win the second prize of €312,627.
To win a Superdraw, players must correctly select five main numbers from a range of 1-50 as well as two Lucky Stars from a range of 1-12, just as in a typical EuroMillions draw. The odds of winning the Superdraw, as well as the regular EuroMillions jackpot, are 1:139,838,160.
After Friday’s winning draw the jackpot reset to its starting amount of €17 million. The next EuroMillions draw is 4 July 2017 and is open to lottery players the world over, so get your tickets now! €17 million may not be quite the same as a Superdraw jackpot but it is still a life changing amount of money!
