It would really be nice to win big in the lottery someday, you think. Hey, it’s a dream, right? Imagine winning big twice and the odds of that happening. Let us do the probability for you: the odds of winning the lottery twice is roughly 283 billion to one. EuroMillions UK found that lucky one last month with their UK Millionaire Maker raffle.
Lottery Lightning Strikes Twice
The luckiest of the luckiest are David and Kathleen Long of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. On 26 July 2013, the couple won £1 million when their lottery ticket matched the UK Millionaire Maker raffle code. That draw was a mega draw with 100 raffle code winners. They spent the money on an early retirement, a new car, and a wedding for themselves. Then in March, David was walking past a store and saw that they were advertising a mega raffle where 10 winning codes would be drawn along with a luxury dream car for each winning ticket holder. David said that he “thought yeah I’ll give that a go” and bought a ticket. The morning after the draw, they checked the numbers and were shocked to see that they matched one of the ten winning raffle codes again. In total, the couple has won £2 million and a luxury vehicle from EuroMillions UK and the National Lottery. The couple plans to go on a Mediterranean cruise with some of their second helping of lottery winnings.
Time to Get Lucky
If you want to be lucky like the Longs, then the first thing you have to do is play! Buy a EuroMillions and UK Millionaire Maker ticket online, and you could be on your way to hitting it big. Besides the £1 million UK Millionaire Maker raffle prize, there is a grand €31 million EuroMillions jackpot at stake during tomorrow night’s draw (17 April 2015). If you’d like to only play for the EuroMillions jackpot and leave the raffle prizes for another day, you can always purchase a regular EuroMillions ticket. The choice is yours and hopefully so is the luck!
